When circumstances don't allow for you to handle your parts marking yourself, take advantage of CanCard Marking's Service Bureau. The CanCard Marking Service Bureau offers metal tag embossing, dot peen marking, electro-chemical etching and 2D DataMatrix solutions, all described in more detail below.
We also store a great number of tags onsite for your immediate embossing needs and can create and hold an inventory for you to draw from. You send us the data you need processed and we do the work and ship the finished product back to you. Quick, reliable and accurate: what could be easier?
Metal Tag Embossing
Embossing involves raising the surface of the tag to produce various letters and numbers that can be used to identify a part or serial number etc. This type of identification is ideal for part marking, traceability and serialization. Currently our CanCard Service Bureau offers two font sizes for your embossing needs. The two fonts are referred to in the industry as '350' and '488' type.
Dot Peen Marking
Dot Peen Marking (also referred to as simply Dot Marking) involves marking a part or tag with a series of small indented dots. Ideal for applications where parts are of an irregular size.
Electro-Chemical Etching
Electro-chemical Etching describes the process whereby AC and DC currents are used in conjunction with an electrolyte solution to create a permanent, robust, high definition mark on metal. Ideal for applications where deformation of a part can cause it to exceed allowable tolerances (such as shims or feeler gauges).
2D DataMatrix Solutions
A 2D DataMatrix code is a two dimensional barcode that contains considerable more data than a traditional one dimensional barcode and takes up much less space. Built-in redundancy makes the code virtually indestructible as well. The 2D DataMatrix code is recognized as an internation standard (BS ISO 16022) and is also approved for use in Aerospace applications (ATA Spec2000).
